What Happens If You Don’t Change Your Oil?

Oil Light

Oil is an important component of your vehicle. It ensures that your vehicle’s engine is properly lubricated so that you can tackle your Fort Morgan commute with ease. As you drive around, the oil in your vehicle begins to break down and will need to be replaced. Most experts recommend changing your oil anywhere between 5,000 to 10,000 miles, however, those intervals can change depending on your specific vehicle and even your driving habits around Holyoke.

But, what happens if you don’t get your oil changed? By ignoring oil changes, friction begins to build up in your engine which could lead to your vehicle overheating or completely breaking down on the side of the road. We suggest you always get your oil change on time because you don’t want to find out what happens if you don’t change your oil regularly. When it’s time for an oil change, be sure to visit the service experts at our dealership for professional assistance. Why It’s Important to Change Your Oil

Now that we know what happens if you don’t change your oil, why does oil have such an important role in your vehicle? Oil has many properties, but its main job is to lubricate the many moving parts in your engine. This lubrication property allows your vehicle to continue to run smoothly as you drive around Brush. Unfortunately, even the highest quality oil will eventually break down and needs to be replaced. Let’s take a look at why it’s important to change your oil:

  • Reduce Wear & Tear: Fresh oil reduces wear and tear on your vehicle by limiting the amount of friction on moving parts.
  • Cleaner: Many different motor oils have detergents and cleaning properties to keep sludge from building up on your engine.
  • Cooler Engine: Sometimes, motor oil can neutralize the acid from fuel. Neutralizing this acid can improve piston ring seals which in turn can help cool your engine.
